The role

What you will do

This is not a traditional call centre. The Contact Team connects guests, reservations, the office and operational teams in the field.
  • Provide customer support to apartment guests, mainly through written messages on Booking.com, Airbnb, email and WhatsApp. Phone calls are a smaller part of the job.
  • Handle enquiries about arrivals, stays, accommodation and everyday situations involving guests.
  • Share information, coordinate tasks and support one another within the Contact Team.
  • Pass important information to the director, the office and colleagues responsible for cleaning, inspections and call-outs.
  • Keep track of several conversations, priorities and open tasks on the computer at the same time.

Flexible and fair

Shifts and schedule

How the schedule is arranged

The schedule is arranged as fairly as possible for all team members. For example, one week you may work on Sunday afternoon and have Monday off.

When the schedule is being prepared, everyone can specify the days in the following month when they cannot work, and we adapt the number of working days per week to the agent’s preferences. There is plenty of flexibility, but the team cannot take on someone who is unavailable too often.

Working arrangements

You work 4–5 days a week. Shifts are from 08:00 to 15:00 and from 15:00 to 23:00. The most common pattern is an afternoon shift followed by a morning shift the next day.

The work is office-based, usually in pairs, although some shifts may be worked independently.

An honest view of the job

It is busy — and sometimes stressful

The number of messages and enquiries increases around check-in time, so the work can be intense. It is important to stay calm, communicate clearly and prioritise.

We do not expect you to know everything straight away: there is a lot of information, and it often takes months for an agent to learn it all. Most of the time, an experienced colleague is alongside you to guide you towards a solution and provide support.

Career progression

Contact Team — Supervisors

This role offers a realistic opportunity to progress quickly to the Contact Team — Supervisors department, which handles more complex guest situations, guides agents and monitors the quality of the Contact Team’s work.

Including bonuses, the average hourly rate is generally around €13. Expected monthly earnings range from €1,500 to €2,400.

Profit sharing

Your own percentage of company profits

Your bonus depends on your personal percentage in the profit sharing system. Every office employee has their own percentage of the company’s profits, which grows over time.

After two years of employment, an employee can move from employee profit sharing to owner profit sharing, where bonuses depend even more on the company’s profits.

The company’s monthly profits are divided into three percentage-based portions: one for further company investment, one for employee bonuses and one for employees to invest through the company.

Training and development

Getting started with support

0–24 hTrial period

If, within the first 24 hours, we decide that the candidate is not a suitable fit or the candidate withdraws, those hours are not paid.

24–56 hLearning alongside an experienced colleague

The hourly rate is €6.56. During this period, the candidate is not counted as additional help.

56–170 hHelping with the work

The candidate is counted as additional help, at an hourly rate of €6.56. If they stay for at least 6 months, they also receive the difference up to €9.50 per hour for those hours.

Please note: the 24–56–170-hour stages can be shorter, and usually are. These figures are the maximum hour thresholds for each stage. During the first 56 hours, you will usually have someone alongside you to train you.

Earnings and employment

What €2,300 gross means in practice

All hourly rates and amounts quoted are gross. The relationship between gross and net pay depends on the employment arrangement.
≈ €2,300 gross

A standard schedule of 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, at an average hourly rate of €13, comes to around €2,300 gross per month.

100% SelfCheckIns LTDaround €2,300 net

If the entire payment is arranged through the foreign company, the full gross amount is also the net amount.

100% SelfCheckIns d.o.o.around €1,600–1,700 net

If the entire payment is arranged through the Croatian company, this is the approximate net amount.

The quoted range depends on the number of shifts, type of work, supplements and bonuses. The employment arrangement and final method of calculating pay are agreed before work begins.

1. Positivity

We do not tolerate spreading negativity in the office. If you feel that someone is directing negativity towards you, you are required to report it immediately.

2. Initiative and a willingness to work

Because the work is done in pairs, someone may try to let their colleague do all the work, but the team usually identifies and removes such a member quickly.

The team decides. Whether someone meets the required standards is usually decided by the agents themselves, rather than supervisors or owners.
